  • Introduction

    Course Introduction: Japanese

    The course enables the students to actively adjust to the rapidly-changing global age by developing their ability in practical Japanese. This will equip them with extensive knowledge of Japanese literature and culture, leading them to take an active part in the field related to Japan, with a cosmopolitan outlook. Rather than giving undue stress on conventional language teaching, the course focuses on teaching practical knowledge readily applicable in real life and hands-on work. Hence, graduates of this course will be prepared as international experts that can make great contributions to the society in any field related to Japan. They are actively engaged in a range of fields, including trading firms, Japanese companies, travel agencies, public enterprises, duty-free shops, hotels, and as tourist interpreters and class lecturers.

    Course Objectives and Goals

    To nurture experts in Japanese with the appropriate communication skills in the global age.
    To cultivate global talents with a balanced and extensive perspective on the Japanese society and culture.
    To foster experts that will lead Japanese teaching in Korea.
    To attain the above goals, the professional course in practical Japanese has been established.

    • Offers various subjects in practical Japanese, each with various levels.
    • Enables balanced improvement in the reading, speaking, listening and writing components in Japanese.
    • Tests the students’ ability to communicate in Japanese by assigning them various tasks that require the use of multimedia.

    Offers prospective Japanese teachers and instructors various subjects related to the teaching methods.

    • Offers prospective Japanese teachers and instructors various subjects related to the teaching methods.
    • Enables the students to learn and practice the real-life teaching method.

    A wide range of offline Japanese lectures are available.

    • Offers counseling programs for entering graduate school of education and other graduate schools.
    • Provides special lectures in preparation for graduate school entrance.
    • Offline supplementary lectures are available for each subject.

    Offers characterized mentoring programs.

    • Graduates enter the field of Japanese teaching, such as publishing Japanese books, class lectures and short-term teachers in English.
    • They enter professional fields such as airline, trade, hotel businesses and duty-free shops.
    • They take an active part in translation and interpretation.

    Develops the Japanese proficiency needed for the entry into the workplace and further studies.

    • Offers various lectures in business Japanese required in the workplace.
    • Provides a range of lectures in translation, interpretation and tourist Japanese.
    • Gives lectures for JPT and JLPT preparation required for employment and promotions.

    Provides the subject tracks for business Japanese, translation, interpretation and tourist guidance.

    • Offers regular offline meetings for Japanese conversation, etc.
    • Provides offline classes on how to prepare graduation projects.

    Operates classes preparing for graduate school entrance.

    • The classes are run individually, for senior students to help new students adapt to their studies and college life.
    • The wide range of online/offline meetings between the senior and the junior students enable active exchange of information.
    • Graduates succeed in entering various graduate schools in Korea and Japan.
